About this programme
What you'll learn
- Solve unfamiliar problems with Pólya's method, using bottom-up, top-down, analogy, stepwise refinement, divide and conquer and pattern spotting.
- Explain how a computer works, from binary, hexadecimal and signed arithmetic to logic gates, memory, the CPU and the life cycle of a program.
- Build sound arguments and spot fallacies, using syllogisms, truth tables, rules of inference and predicate logic in everyday and computing problems.
- Write Python programs with variables, loops, functions, lists and dictionaries, then structure larger code with classes, inheritance and polymorphism.
- Apply sets, relations, functions and counting principles such as permutations, combinations and the pigeonhole principle to computing problems.
- Analyse algorithms with Big O, then implement sorting, searching, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, graphs, heaps and hash tables in Python.
- Design databases with entity-relationship models and normalisation, query MySQL with joins and subqueries, and store and query documents in MongoDB.
- Build web pages with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and the DOM, then full-stack MERN applications with Express, React and token-based login.
- Work like a professional developer with Agile planning, automated testing, CI/CD, Git and pull requests, UML design, SOLID principles and computing ethics.

Parts of this programme
Part 1: Foundations of Computer Science
Module 1Learn Problem-Solving with Pólya
Work through unfamiliar problems with Pólya's method: understand the problem, devise a plan, carry it out, and pick a strategy that fits.
- Six strategies, each tested on a puzzle
- Number guessing and Minesweeper solved step by step
- A repeatable process for any problem
Module 2Computing Basics
Explain how a computer stores and processes information, from binary and hexadecimal numbers to logic gates, memory and the CPU.
- Confident conversions between number systems
- How text, colour and images become binary
- A clear map of hardware and software
Module 3Logical Thinking
Judge whether an argument holds, name the fallacy when it does not, and test validity with syllogisms, truth tables and predicate logic.
- A working catalogue of everyday fallacies
- Proofs built by natural deduction
- Logic applied to law, puzzles and computing
Before you start
- Prior knowledge
No experience in the subject needed.
- Device and software
A laptop or desktop for the programming and project modules. A phone works for reading.
- PythonFree
- Node.js and MongoDBFree
- Git and GitHubFree
- Internet
None of the 1,202 lessons needs video.
- Time commitment
12 months, with 209 hours of guided lessons: about 4 hours a week, plus your own practice and project time.

Frequently asked questions
How long is Computer Science Bootcamp?
Computer Science Bootcamp runs over 12 Months and covers 27 modules. Lessons open as soon as you are accepted, so you work through them at your own pace inside that window.
What will I be able to do after Computer Science Bootcamp?
By the end you will be able to: Solve unfamiliar problems with Pólya's method, using bottom-up, top-down, analogy, stepwise refinement, divide and conquer and pattern spotting.; Explain how a computer works, from binary, hexadecimal and signed arithmetic to logic gates, memory, the CPU and the life cycle of a program.; Build sound arguments and spot fallacies, using syllogisms, truth tables, rules of inference and predicate logic in everyday and computing problems.; Write Python programs with variables, loops, functions, lists and dictionaries, then structure larger code with classes, inheritance and polymorphism.; Apply sets, relations, functions and counting principles such as permutations, combinations and the pigeonhole principle to computing problems.; Analyse algorithms with Big O, then implement sorting, searching, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, graphs, heaps and hash tables in Python.; Design databases with entity-relationship models and normalisation, query MySQL with joins and subqueries, and store and query documents in MongoDB.; Build web pages with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and the DOM, then full-stack MERN applications with Express, React and token-based login.; and Work like a professional developer with Agile planning, automated testing, CI/CD, Git and pull requests, UML design, SOLID principles and computing ethics.. Every module is built around work you can show, not recall alone.
Do I need any experience to start?
Not in the subject. Computer Science Bootcamp runs from beginner to advanced, so you can join with no background in it. Every learner first completes Professional Foundations Program, and this programme opens when you finish.
How much does it cost, and what is the scholarship?
Teki-SL runs these programmes on scholarship. Applying costs nothing, and a learner we accept pays no tuition and signs no income-share agreement. Places are limited, so not every applicant is awarded one; if you are not selected you can apply again for the next intake, and the free guides, cheatsheets and practice tools stay open to you either way.
